General Liability
Comprehensive General Liability The liability policy includes, as insureds, your clergy, elected or appointed officials and board members, employees, volunteers and most organizations you control.
Protection is provided against claims of negligence involving bodily injury, property damage, personal injury (such as libel and slander, including that arising from your incidental broadcasting activities, as well as Internet usage) and advertising injury. This protection applies to your sponsored activities, even if away from your facilities.
It includes lawsuits originating from your premises, operations, products (including food preparation), construction, athletics and the use of nonowned watercraft.
Damage you cause someone else's facility and for which you are legally liable is covered for up to a specific limit.
Medical Expense Protection is provided to cover medical expenses of members, guests and volunteer workers who are injured on your premises or while participating in your sponsored activities on or off premises. This coverage is provided regardless of fault.
Medical Expense coverage also can be used for the costs of counseling for victims of sexual molestation and misconduct.
Injuries from athletic and physical training activities may be covered on an excess or primary basis.
Injuries to students and day care attendees may be covered on an excess or primary basis.
Sexual Misconduct and Molestation Protects your organization and, while acting within the scope of their duties, your members, clergy, officers, board members, employees and volunteers. No protection is provided to anyone who participated in the act of sexual molestation or misconduct.
Supplementary Payments Church Mutual's multi-peril coverage includes special assistance to help you with the costs associated with a lawsuit. These supplementary payments are in addition to the limit of liability you choose. All payments incurred in your defense*
- All payments incurred in your defense*
- Expenses you incur at our request, including up to $250 per day in lost wages
- Up to $500 for damage to property of others at your activities, even if you are not legally responsible
*Defense costs are within policy limits for optional DO&T, EPL and ELL coverages.
Legal Defense Coverage This coverage provides a specific limit of insurance for defense costs for most lawsuits that are not covered by the multi-peril policy. Examples include contract disputes and landlord/tenant disputes.
This coverage is not the same as payment for legal expenses noted under "Supplementary Payments" above.
Catastrophic Violence Response Coverage Provides immediate financial assistance-without regard to fault or negligence-for medical and funeral expenses; lost wages; and the costs of counseling, security and public relations associated with a qualifying violent incident.
There are benefits for your ministry, your members and students, and for the victims and their families in the wake of a violent incident such as a multiple-victim shooting or hostage situation.
The violent incident must occur on your premises during an activity you sponsor and result in the serious injury, death or hostage situation of two or more persons (not including perpetrators).

Directors, Officers and Trustees Liability This errors and omissions policy protects your directors, officers and trustees against lawsuits alleging matters such as: conflict of interest, failure to exercise good judgment, improper (but not dishonest) expenditures, exceeding authority granted by charter and failure to honor an employment contract. Your organization also is covered if it is required to indemnify such individuals involved in the lawsuit.
Payment of court judgments and legal costs are provided if the claim is made while the policy is in force and if you had no prior knowledge of the wrongful act.
Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Employment Practices Liability insurance provides claims-made coverage in three major areas relating to employees:

Hired and Non-Owned Automobile Liability Provides liability protection for your organization when you rent or borrow a vehicle for use on official business and when vehicles owned or driven by your employees or anyone else are used on the job or on behalf of your organization. Your clergy, officers, employees and volunteers also are protected. This coverage is "excess," meaning that it applies after any other valid and collectible insurance is paid.
With Church Mutual's Rental Automobile Contractual Liability endorsement, you'll also receive coverage for damage (up to $100,000 each consecutive annual period) to vehicles you rent. This endorsement also provides primary liability coverage if the written rental agreement requires your insurance to be primary.

Church Mutual — Other Coverages:
Umbrella Liability Insurance — Get a Quote Seven figure court awards have become common today. The Umbrella Liability Policy (an excess liability policy) helps protect you against the devastating effects of such a large award. It provides greater limits of protection for your general liability (except sexual misconduct/molestation), professional liability, automobile and employers' liability exposures.
Worker's Compensation Insurance — Get a Quote Most property, liability, health and accident insurance policies exclude work-related accidents and injuries, so it is important that you provide workers' compensation insurance for your employees. In the state of California, it is the law.
Workers' compensation benefits are set by state statute and generally provide financial assistance for wage loss, medical and rehabilitation expenses, and survivor benefits.
Commercial Automobile Insurance — Get a Quote If you own an automobile, it is essential to carry automobile insurance.
Liability coverage is for bodily injury and property damage that is caused by your vehicle and for which you are legally obligated to pay.

Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage protects those in your vehicle who are injured by another driver who carries no insurance or inadequate limits of insurance.
